Background & Rationale

Global Priorities, Local Action

International frameworks like the SDGs and UN policy agendas provide a roadmap for addressing complex global challenges. However, these global goals must be translated into actionable, community-specific plans to create real impact.

Urban Context

Cities are dynamic centers of innovation, civic engagement, and social change. Urban communities face unique challenges—from environmental degradation and resource management to civic infrastructure and public health—that require tailored solutions. IOY Urban Hub is designed to localize these global priorities, ensuring that policy-making and advocacy are informed by local realities.

Need for Localized Advocacy

While international policies set the agenda, their successful implementation depends on local advocacy and leadership. IOY Urban Hub aims to bridge the gap between global objectives and local execution by empowering urban youth, community leaders, and local organizations to engage in policy dialogue, monitor progress, and drive sustainable change in their cities.

70%
